The windows that frame the world. The quiet between stations. The way time stretches just enough for a book, a thought, a deep breath.
But for something so beautiful, planning it was surprisingly hard.
One site for tickets. Another for routes. A dozen tabs open, and still no idea if your transfer leaves you time for lunch, or just stress.
We thought: it shouldn’t feel this way. Planning is supposed to be part of the joy, not a test of patience.
So we built Railfinder.
A tool that brings it all together. Seamless routes across Europe. Smart transfers. Clear, human search results. A travel experience that respects your time, your attention, and the planet.
Because train travel isn’t just about getting somewhere—it’s about feeling present while you do. Like watching rivers and rooftops pass while your phone stays tucked away. Like getting there without feeling like you sprinted through it. Like remembering that the journey is part of the trip.
Railfinder was founded in the mountain town of Åre, Sweden, by two friends who knew there had to be a better way. Stefan, a programmer and coach, had just returned from a remarkably smooth round-trip to Chamonix by train. Zuzana, a global marketing strategist, was constantly navigating her work travels through Europe and knew the pain points by heart. Together, they designed a solution that made slow travel feel simple again. A little later, Veronica joined from Spain, bringing her tech-world savvy and love for partnerships into the mix.
The mission continues, and the mission is the same: Make train travel in Europe easy, joyful, and better for the planet.
Everything we build is rooted in that belief. That travel can be more intentional. That slower isn’t lesser. That's how we move through the world that matters.
