Terms & conditions

1. Railfinder terms

1.1. Introduction

Railfinder (“we”) is a booking portal offering search and booking of transportation tickets. Our registration is 559405-7720 in Sweden.

1.2. Our services

Railfinder provides a platform to search, compare, and book rail travel options offered by third-party providers ("Service Providers").

We act solely as an intermediary and do not operate or own any transportation services. Your contract for travel services is directly with the Service Provider.

1.3. Contact information

For any questions or concerns regarding these Terms and Conditions, please contact us. See Contact Railfinder.

2. Acceptance of terms and conditions

2.1. Acceptance

By accessing or using our services, including our website and mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms and Conditions, please refrain from using our services.

2.2. Privacy

Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

3. Use of our services

3.1. User obligations

By using our Platform, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during the booking process.
  • Refrain from using the Platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
  • Not use automated systems to extract data from our services.

4. Bookings

4.1. Booking and payment

When you make a booking through our Platform, you authorize us to facilitate reservations and payments on your behalf with the respective Service Providers.

Prices and availability are subject to change until the booking is confirmed.

Additional terms from the Service Provider apply to your booking, see section 5.

4.2. Changes, cancellations and refunds

Cancellation and refund policies are determined by the Service Providers. Please review the specific terms associated with your booking. Railfinder is not responsible for any cancellations or refunds beyond facilitating your request with the Service Provider.

5. Tickets

5.1. Connections and multiple tickets

Your journey may be covered by one single ticket or by separate tickets, which will be clearly indicated before purchase. Each ticket constitutes its own Contract of Carriage with separate Conditions of Carriage. Applicable regulation as set out in 5.2 is valid for each Contract of Carriage separately.

5.2. Applicable regulation

EU Regulation 2021/782 on rail passengers' rights and obligations apply to each Contract of Carriage, i.e. each ticket that you purchase through us.

Please refer to:

5.3. Specific conditions of carriage

In addition to the applicable regulations in force, your train journey is also subject to the general and specific Conditions of Carriage of the Service Providers operating on your route.

For travel conditions of each carrier, please refer to Carrier travel conditions.

5.4. Guarantees regarding missed connections

For each segment of your trip that is part of a continuous ticket (Contract of Carriage), you have full passenger rights according to section 5.2.

For a connection transferring between two tickets, you might be covered by the Agreement of Journey Continuation (AJC). Read more about AJC here: What you need to know about the CIT Agreement on Journey Continuation (PDF).

For connections involving two separate tickets not covered by AJC, it is your responsibility as a traveler to allow sufficient transfer time. We always aim to suggest appropriate connections on a best-effort basis.

6. Liability

You are financially responsible for all bookings made through your account, as well as for any losses we incur as a result of your breach of these Terms and Conditions or misuse of our booking service. This includes situations where you knowingly allow someone else to use your account to make a booking.

We are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is considered foreseeable if it is either obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both you and we knew it might happen. We are also not liable for any losses you may suffer that are unrelated to our booking service.

Railfinder will not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from delays, cancellations, or missed connections. For example, we are not responsible for the cost of hotel bookings, onward travel (such as taxis or flights), or event tickets that you are unable to use due to train cancellations or delays.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (or that of our employees, agents, or subcontractors), or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

7. Miscellaneous

7.1. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Railfinder or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

7.2. Modifications

Railfinder reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance.

7.3. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Swedish law. If a dispute comes up, it will be handled by the courts in Sweden.
